things have changed now
so i try
not to remember how things used to be
or how young i acted
how i laughed when they told me i was immature
and how we thought nothing could touch us
that we were immortal

somewhere
somehow
we lost that idea along the way
and split, fractured pieces of a porcelain figurine
each marred by the breakage of the others
never realizing
that each was better off as a piece

i've forgiven myself
and held their funeral
tiny caskets full of fragmented old dreams

absolved
and set free

note: sorry this doesn't sound happy, i actually am very happy with my life, it's just that i come to terms with my past through this sort of thing. it's for me, not for you, so don't bitch.
