evolution of a single day.

the middle of another day but
i feel as though it's just beginning
the sky is blue and i'm still just
trapped in my own inertia
by the static that comes pouring
from the blue frames of the tv set
and the frantic tapping of my fingers
on keys so worn the letters are ghosts
by the things i want to be
and all the things i wish i was doing
and dreams of our apartment somewhere in canada
of our escape from this place
and though i left my first home six months ago
that black hole called des moines
i've simply left the epicenter
stumbled to the event horizon and
looked into the vastness of the universe
and realized how lost i truly am
